LET'S GO TEAM!!! -- Head Football Coach Marcilino "Chelo" Huerta gathers his team for one final strategy briefing prior to taking the field and notching another Parsons College Wildcats victory.
GREEK WEEK COMPETITION -- The participation, the beauty and the competition of the Annual Greek Week Festival was a sight to behold. This week long classic event became one of the top activates of the year at Parsons College. The incredibly competitive and rugged chariot race highlighted and culminated the week's events.
HOMECOMING -- Each year at Parsons College, Homecoming opened the gates for a vast amount of creativity and competition between the various social groups as they built floats and constructed outdoor house decorations in an attempt to "show their stuff" and win the coveted "BEST HOMECOMING FLOAT" and "BEST HOUSE DECORATION" AWARDS.
IOWA WINTER ICE -- If one ever spent a winter in Iowa, perhaps the beauty of this Iowa ice storm is a happily discarded memory and escapes you. The brutal cold, the snow and the frequent winter ice storms offset any thoughts of global warming, and frosted the toes of many a Parsons College student.
LAKE LOUISE -- This beautiful flowing lake was candidly name after Dr. Louise Roberts, the wife of Dr. Bob (Millard G. Roberts), the illustrious President of Parsons College. The scenic lake bisected and separated the main campus from the Greek Quads (dormitory housing units) on the north side.
LEE GOBBLE -- A young and astute looking Lee Gobble (left), "Haberdasher Emeritus," leads a collection of wanabee musicians in a rendition of the Parsons College Fight Song. Could that be "Parsons Bill" (Gooooo Parsons!!!) in the lower right, holding the Parsons pennant???
THE PARSONS MARCHING BAND -- One of the finest small college marching bands in all the land, and seemingly, under the "forever" direction of Mr. Kenneth Carpenter. But, ooooooh, those silly looking muff-ball hats!!!!
THE SQUARE AT NIGHT -- Looking east along Highway 34 at night was a scintillating sight. Note the location of George's Pizza Shop, flanked on the right by Iowa's most famous Maid-Rite Sandwich Shop, the home of the delicious crumbly burgers.
